The item is very sturdy; although, one of the shelf hinges was broken when I upacked it. I secured it with a couple of twist ties - wasn't worth the trouble of sending back. We are enjoying the unit very much - it looks good and, with the folding shelves, is very adaptable for different size plants.

Q1: What is the height and depth of the bottom two shelves?
A: The bottom shelf measures 16 inches high, and the second shelf from the bottom measures 13 inches high. Both of these shelves have a depth of 14 inches.
